Commercial Season 2002 - update
Update - 17 April 2002 from J Morrison, DFO
Lot's of questions starting to float around about the season opening, and
time to put some rumours to bed.
The fishing plan has been signed off. Now it has to go to the printers and
then get distributed to the Licencing offices. Our best bet is that Licence
renewal MAY start noon Monday the 22nd - but don't head down there until it
is confirmed. A Notice to Industry will be distributed when Licencing has
their schedule arranged, and the notice will be copied to this discussion
group. Remember, you will need the letter indicating you have made
arrangements for service from J.O. Thomas, with you when you go to
Licencing.
We're still on track for a noon May 1 opening. HOWEVER - THAT MUST ALSO BE
CONFIRMED. Confirmation will also be provided by a Notice to Industry,
copied to this discussion group.
Until Notices to Industry are produced, nothing is official.
The Joint Project Agreement with industry also appears to be on track - just
waiting for some final review and comments from both sides. That also needs
to be signed off before May 1.
